pantene beautiful lengths: donating real hair wigs to support women with cancer!

Monday, September 2nd 2013 marked the launch of the second year of Pantene Beautiful Lengths the first program of its kind in Australia and New Zealand to inspire women to grow, cut and donate their hair to be turned into real-hair wigs for women undergoing cancer treatment by haircare brand Pantene.

Since launch in September 2012, Pantene Beautiful Lengths has raised an incredible aprox 5,000 ponytails thanks to the generous donations from women and men across the country. Pantene has so far distributed 200 real-hair wigs to women undergoing cancer treatment in Australia and New Zealand at no cost to them. Even more wigs are planned for delivery this year.

Thursday 26th September will see the launch of the Pantene Beautiful Lengths pop-up salon in Sydney to mark the second year of the program and celebrate a massive 5,000 ponytail donations so far from generous women - and men - across Australia and New Zealand. Women of Sydney are invited to make an appointment at the salon and experience the Pantene Beautiful Lengths Strengthening Collection whilst learning more about the campaign. Women will be able to learn tips and tricks to grow their hair long and strong in order to donate during Pantene’s National Donate Your Hair Week, launching on Monday 11th November

Appointments can be made for a wash and blow-dry or haircut when you donate with Pantene Beautiful Lengths ambassador, Barney Martin, and his team of expert hairdressers. If anyone wishes to donate their hair on the day, it must be a minimum of 20com and less than 5% grey with no permanent hair dye. Further details on requirements can be found on the website.

This year, Pantene ambassador, Zooey Deschanel, is joining forces with fellow Pantene ambassadors, beauty expert, Zoe Foster-Blake, and leading hairstylist, Barney Martin, to encourage people to skip a trim and grow their hair longer and stronger to donate their ponytails.

Zooey Deschanel says: “Pantene is helping to provide confidence and beautiful real-hair wigs to women who have lost their hair due to cancer treatment; you can’t put a price on that. I know Australia and New Zealand have received 5,000 ponytails so far which will make a huge difference to many women with cancer, and I hope we can surpass that number this year.”

International: Internationally Since 2006, Pantene Beautiful Lengths has been a huge success in North America, receiving over 311,000 ponytails to create 24,000 real- hair wigs for women who have lost their hair through cancer. Due to its huge success, Pantene Beautiful Lengths has since been launched in the UK and Belgium, among other countries.

  1. Really a great idea of donating wigs to women with this life threatening disease named cancer. I am also aware of a website which design wigs for women with cancer in various sizes and styles. They design wigs and hats in stylish manner so that along with covering their hair loss effectively, women can also opt for stylish looks. I am sharing the link, if you want to visit, you can.
